"The impossibility of revealing Arcane secrets to those without sufficient spiritual development to receive and comprehend them is the cause for many of the misconceptions and prejudices regarding the Rosicrucian conceptions which are circulated among those who have no knowledge on the subject; utterly false claims and pretensions made by those who, ignorant of the real facts as Rosicrucian's, are advertising themselves as such. If this same critical public were to remember that those who proclaim themselves as, or pretend to be, Rosicrucian's, are never such; that "those who talk do not know, while those who know do not talk," there could be no misunderstanding. No Rosicrucian ever claimed to be such except in the line of duty or the protection of an unfortunate brother."
